Arizona State Veterans Home-Phoenix

ASVH- Phoenix is a 104-bed, Medicare certified, skilled-nursing care facility for eligible Arizona Veterans, located in central Phoenix. 

The state-owned and operated facility is divided into long-term care beds, a memory care unit and a Medicare/rehab-focused unit.

Facility Features

ASVH-Phoenix features single or double occupancy rooms, each with an ADA-approved, en suite bathroom. Each room also has a free, private telephone for resident use along with a television, free cable and a DVD player. 

Veterans and their spouses who choose long-term care enjoy a vibrant, independent lifestyle with customized services to fit their needs. Residents enjoy comfort, dignity and warm social connections through a variety of activities and outings with staff, other Veterans and the community. 

The ASVH-Phoenix facility has several amenities available to residents including:

  • Facility-wide WiFi for residents to enjoy internet access on their own personal devices
  • A 1,000 DVD movie library
  • A high-quality movie theater for hosting special movie and documentary screenings
  • Lounge and relaxation rooms in each wing
  • An onsite Veteran Benefits Counselor with obtaining Veteran claims and benefits. 
 
Resident Care

ASVH-Phoenix serves the long-term care and rehabilitative needs of Arizona Veterans, with an energetic and caring staff whose members provide nursing, therapeutic recreation, and social services to those who have served our nation.

  • Rehabilitative therapy is provided seven days a week:
  • Physical therapy to improve movement and function
  • Occupational therapy to improve daily living skills
  • Speech therapy to improve memory and swallowing disabilities

Admissions

An applicant is eligible for admission if the applicant is an honorably-separated Veteran, or the spouse of a Veteran, and must require skilled nursing care as determined by a physician. There must be documented evidence of the absence of tuberculosis.
