The Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services (ADVS) is pleased to announce the confirmation of John F. Scott II as the Director of ADVS.

The Arizona Senate unanimously voted to confirm Director Scott’s nomination last Tuesday, solidifying his role as Director of the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services.

Director Scott has been dedicated to serving Veterans since his honorable discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps. Since 2015, he has continued that service at ADVS in various roles, including Assistant Deputy Director, Deputy Director, and now Director. Prior to his work with ADVS, Director Scott served as Executive Director for U.S. VETS–Phoenix and as a Commissioner with the Arizona Veteran Services Advisory Commission and the Military Veterans Commission for the City of Phoenix.

“I am honored to have received Senate confirmation as Director of the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services. My vision is that no Veteran in Arizona will spend a night without a roof over their head, food in their stomach, and the support of the Veteran ecosystem developed through Be Connected. I am privileged to serve Governor Hobbs and the State of Arizona and look forward to enhancing the lives of our Veterans,” said Director Scott.

As Director, his top priorities include addressing Veteran homelessness, delivering resources and support to rural and tribal communities, and traveling the state to highlight the accomplishments of Veterans and Veteran-serving organizations.
