Arizona Veterans' Donation Fund Opening Small Grant Applications
PHOENIX, Ariz.- The Arizona Veterans’ Donation Fund (VDF) is reopening applications for their small grant starting July 1, 2024.
The VDF is accepting grant proposals for the Small Grant ($4,999 or less) through fiscal year 2024-2025. The small grant cycle will stay open year-round or until the $300,000 allocated for the grant has been awarded.
The Arizona Legislature created the VDF in 1999 to fund programs that benefit Arizona Veterans and their families. Arizona law specifies that VDF donations are held in an account that can never revert to the State General Fund and can only be used to benefit Veterans in the State of Arizona through small ($4,999.99 or less) and large grants ($5,000 - $75,000).
The VDF consists of monies, gifts and contributions donated to the department and donations made through the purchase of Veteran, Women Veteran, and Freedom Special License Plates. The assets held in the account can only be used to benefit Veterans in the State of Arizona through small grants and large grants, each with their own documented application process.
“The VDF gives us an opportunity to help organizations continue the great work they do for Arizona Veterans. With the increases in funding this year, we are able to provide more small and large grants, therefore reaching even more Arizona Veterans and their families,” said Natasha Orduno, ADVS Grants Project Specialist.
