Arizona State Veteran Home-Flagstaff Preparing To Open Invites Public To Attend Informational Sessions
Flagstaff, Ariz. – The Arizona State Veteran Home-Flagstaff (ASVH-Flagstaff) is one step closer to welcoming residents home! The Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services (ADVS) invites the public to attend informational sessions at ASVH-Flagstaff on Friday, January 13th and Saturday, January 14th.
Sessions will provide information on residency requirements, a walk-through tour of the facility, and highlight job opportunities within the home.
ASVH-Flagstaff broke ground in June of 2019 but the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent chain supply issues delayed the official opening of the home. The home is an 80-bed skilled-nursing care facility for eligible Veterans, dependents and Gold Star families. The facility will serve the long-term care and rehabilitative needs of residents providing nursing, therapeutic recreation and social services. According to a feasibility study, 39% of the Veterans that live in the communities surrounding ASVH-Flagstaff are 65 or older.
