2023 Memorial Day Observance Ceremonies at Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services Cemeteries
PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services invites the public to attend Memorial Day ceremonies on Monday, May 29th at each of the State’s cemeteries to honor the lives of all Americans who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Ahead of Memorial Day, staff and volunteers will place flags on each gravesite at all three locations.
Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at Marana

- U.S. flags placed on gravesites by staff & volunteers: Friday, May 26th at 8AM (open to the public)
- Memorial Day ceremony: Monday, May 29th at 8AM
Southern Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery
1300 S. Buffalo Soldier Trail
Sierra Vista, AZ 85635
- U.S. flags placed on gravesites by staff & volunteers: Saturday, May 27th at 8AM (open to the public)
- Memorial Day ceremony: Monday, May 29th at 8:30AM

*** If you are attending flag placement events at Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery at Marana and Southern Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, it is recommended that you bring your own hammer and mesuring device. Flag placement happens in changing landscapes including rocks, dirt and grass. ***
