Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services Director, Col. Wanda Wright is the third generation of her family to serve in the U.S. military. She has three decades of military experience. As a 1985 United States Air Force Academy graduate, Col. Wright began her military career as Deputy Budget Officer with the Tactical Air Command at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with a follow-on assignment to Davis-Monthan AFB as the Budget Officer.Leaving active duty in 1990, Col. Wright joined the Arizona National Guard.

Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services Deputy Director John Scott II is the third generation of his family to serve in the U.S. military. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1999 to 2003 as an M-198 Howitzer Section Chief, obtaining the rank of Sergeant. In addition to his duties, John was also the Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Non-Commissioned Officer, and Weapons Instructor for his Marine Corps unit.John attended college at the University of California - Los Angeles and received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Luis Marquez is the Assistant Deputy Director for Administration with the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services. Luis manages the Department’s administration division’s strategic goals and oversees its operations which support the needs of all other divisions serving Arizona veterans and their families.Before joining ADVS, Luis served the State of Arizona in various capacities for over 24 years.
