John F. Scott II

John F. Scott II is a Marine Corps Veteran, the third generation of his family to serve in the United States Military. John has served the Veteran community through the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services (ADVS) since 2015, as the Assistant Deputy Director, Deputy Director and now in his current role as Director. Prior to his work at ADVS, John was the Executive Director for U.S.VETS-Phoenix for three years, where he was responsible for housing, counseling, rehabilitating and employing homeless Veterans throughout Maricopa County. From 2014 to 2015, John served as the Commissioner for both the Arizona Veteran Services Advisory Commission as well as the Military Veterans Commission for the City of Phoenix.
John graduated from the University of California: Los Angeles, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Wishing to make a greater impact on the Veteran community, John went back to school and graduated cum laude from California State University: Long Beach with a Master’s Degree in Social Work.
