Scott Fincher is the Assistant Deputy Director for the Veteran Services Division with the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services. Scott oversees the Arizona State Approving Agency, Veteran Benefits Counselors, the Quality Review Team and Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemeteries.
Prior to joining the state, he worked in the mental health field before becoming a Veterans Services Commissioner. Scott also spent time assisting veterans as a Veterans Service Officer (VSO) and has worked as a VSO Supervisor and VSO Director in Ohio and Nevada.
Scott’s U.S. military history includes becoming a Sergeant and serving with the 2/2 nd and the 3/13 th Field Artillery units. Most of his time served was in the Pacific to include Hawaii, Philippines and Okinawa. He also provided artillery fire support at Ft. Sill, OK for the U.S. Army Field Artillery School. He received an Army Commendation Medal two honorable discharges during his service.
Scott holds an Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Behavioral Science from Cameron University in Lawton, Okla.
